Fridolin Laager (born May 27, 1883 in Schöftland , † January 20, 1975 in Aarau ) was a Swiss politician of the Farmers, Trade and Citizens' Party (BGB).

biography

Fridolin Laager was born on May 27, 1883 as the son of the district school teacher Fridolin Laager sen. and Susanna Karolina, née Matter, born in Schöftland. After attending the Aarau Cantonal School , Laager began studying law in 1903 at the Universities of Geneva , Zurich , Bern and Heidelberg , which he obtained with a Dr. iur. completed. After acquiring the Aarau advocacy patent, he was employed as a clerk in Zurzach from 1907 to 1909 and from 1909 he ran his own law firm in Aarau. In addition, Fridolin Laager acted as chairman of the general housing cooperative founded in 1919, as a member of the Aarau School Care Association and the Aargau Sanatorium Association.

Fridolin Laager, who was married three times, died on January 20, 1975 at the age of 91 in Aarau.

Political activity

On the urban political level, Laager was deputy mayor from 1918 to 1937 and from 1938 to 1947 as mayor of Aarau. He also worked as an elected representative in the Aargau Grand Council , which he presided over from 1935 to 1936. Laager, who was originally a member of the Free Democratic Party , switched to the BGB in the 1920s . Fridolin Laager was particularly involved in the expansion of industrial operations, planning new building areas and municipal land policy.
