After his death he took over the government and moved the residence from Bernburg to Ballenstedt. There he had a small classical court theater built in 1788 . He was considered a "milder" father of the country than Victor Friedrich and decreed that women could also perform legally valid acts. In Bernburg he allowed the establishment of a pawn shop and pawnshop. The establishment of the place Friedrichshöhe goes back to him . From 1763 he was married to the Duchess Louise Albertine von Holstein-Plön. On December 22nd, 1785 he signed the accession to the Princes' League . After the death of Prince Friedrich August von Zerbst in 1793, he regulated the division of Zerbst in the sense of the remaining Anhalter principalities and Catherine II of Russia . Friedrich Albrecht is considered to be the founder of the Anhalt Mineral Collection . Whether he was killed or committed suicide in a hunting accident has never been fully established.
