Marie Frederike von Hessen-Kassel (born September 14, 1768 in Hanau ; † April 17, 1839 in Hanau) was a daughter of the Landgrave and later Elector Wilhelm IX./I. von Hessen-Kassel and his wife, Wilhelmine Karoline of Denmark and Norway .

Marie Frederike married Prince (from 1807: Duke ) Alexis Friedrich von Anhalt-Bernburg (* 1767; † 1834) on November 29, 1794 . She soon showed signs of insanity which led to disagreements at court. Duke Alexius caused the marriage to be divorced on August 6, 1817.

After her death she was buried on April 22, 1839 in the crypt of the then Reformed Marienkirche in Hanau.
