Friedrich Hermann Löscher (born September 14, 1860 in Annaberg ; † December 27, 1944 in Bärenstein ) was a pastor and local researcher in the Ore Mountains.

Life

The son of Hauptzollregistrators Friedrich Hermann extinguisher and his wife Marie Elise, born Jonne, visited the Kreuzgymnasium in Dresden and was as Alumnus of the Cross Choir Dresdner Cross Church, where his father, the site of a later Kirchner held. In 1880, Löscher began studying theology at the University of Leipzig . After two years of private tutoring with Rudolf Lenk Freiherr von Wolfsberg , he returned from Austria in 1887 and took over the position of deacon in Zwönitz . In the same year he married Martha Emilie Saitmacher in Dresden, with whom he had four children.

Löscher was pastor in Zwönitz for 43 years and, in addition to theological writings, mainly published treatises on local history and folk pieces. He was editor of the magazine Aus dem Zwönitzthale . In addition to his activities in numerous church associations and committees, Löscher was first chairman of the Erzgebirgsverein (1925-1928) and its branch association Zwönitz, speaker of the Reich Association of Youth Hostels and on the board of the Association of German Mountain and Hiking Associations , in which he played a key role in creating an accommodation network for hikers and youth groups was involved. From 1921 to 1933 he was the executive chairman of this association and supported the work of the personally elected chairmen Rudolf Kissinger (1921-1930) and August Jaspert (1931-1933), who were active during this period . During his tenure in 1931, the stylized fir was chosen as the association's emblem, which is still valid today. He was friends with the singer and poet Anton Günther and through his persistent work achieved that a youth hostel was built on Fichtelberg. In 1927 he gave the speech at the consecration of the lodging house on the Schwartenberg .

After his retirement, Löscher lived near his son in Dresden-Bühlau, Ostmarkstrasse 34. After the death of his wife in 1940, he spent the rest of his life with his daughter in the Ore Mountains.

His son Friedrich Hermann Löscher (1888–1967) was a doctor of law and historian who a. a. dealt with mining law in the Ore Mountains in the Middle Ages.
