Life
Born the son of a Hanoverian cloth merchant, Friedrich Lüddecke graduated from the upper secondary school at Clevertor with the Abitur in 1925. After completing a commercial apprenticeship, he first worked in his father's company and tried his hand at being a commercial agent. In addition, he delivered the first articles to the Lower Saxony daily newspaper , initially only as a freelancer, then during the Nazi era as an assistant editor, and finally as a department head for "Local".
In the middle of the Second World War , Lüddeckes first books for young people appeared, Die honest Reiterstiefel und Hähnchens Abenteuer , illustrated by Rolf Wilde and Rotraut Hinderks-Kutscher .
In 1945 Lüddecke retired to Neustadt am Rübenberge , and a year later his youth book Nun rat 'noch mal! with pictures by Marianne Schneegans .
In 1948 Lüddecke returned to journalism and became a local editor for the newly founded Norddeutsche Zeitung . At the beginning of 1951 he became head of the local section of the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ), for which he worked for a total of 17 years.
His "boy story", the secret society Kralle , published in 1952, appeared five years later under the French title Les Chevaliers de Lindenhagen in a translation by Claude Rochon .
In the mid-1960s, Lüddecke reminded people with two illustrated books of the historic streetscape of the state capital before the air raids on Hanover .
Lüddeckes “Fiddi” poems, with which he summarized local events in rhymes, were popular.
