Friedrich Wilhelm Bilefeldt (born September 29, 1794 in Wesel ; died March 1, 1848 in Koblenz ) was a Prussian officer and district administrator of the Lechenich district and its successor, the Euskirchen district .

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm Bilefeldt was the son of the Prussian war council Heinrich Diederich Bielefeldt and Louise Wilhelmine, née von Rosenthal. After his time as an active soldier, most recently as a lieutenant in the 5th Cuirassier Regiment ( East Prussia ), Bilefeldt was proposed for a district office as early as 1821 (Bitburg). Following his formal retirement from the military (1824), however, he initially found employment with the Düsseldorf government . While he himself applied for the vacant position of the district administrator of Erkelenz after the death of Kasimir von Dewall (April 21, 1826) , the district administration in Lechenich was entrusted to him with the highest cabinet order of May 17th , followed by his inauguration on June 15th . His predecessor, Joseph Freiherr von Weichs , died on June 16, 1826 in Lechenich. On February 17, 1827, the district name changed to Euskirchen district after Bilefeldt had forced the move to there . The relocation was justified by the fact that Bilefeldt had become so hostile to the most respected residents of the city of Lechenich that they wanted to "calm down the hypochondriac and ailing man". A good three years later, Bilefeldt was forced to retire on October 1, 1830.
