Josef Linden

Josef Linden (born on September 26, 1926 in Obergartzem ; died on July 6, 2017 ) was a German district administrator in the Euskirchen district from 1976 to 1994.

Life

Josef Linden, who was born in what is now the Mechernich district of Obergartzem, completed an apprenticeship for administrative services and passed the 1st and 2nd administrative examinations, and later the Sparkasse examination. From 1955 to 1963 head of a finance and tax department and then treasurer until 1968, he took over the position of authorized signatory of the Euskirchen waterworks in July 1968. Most recently he was managing director for 16 years until he retired in April 1991.

Since 1985 Linden has been a member of the board of the Rheinische Sparkassen- und Giroverband and of the board of trustees of the Rheinische Sparkassenakademie.

On November 3, 1981, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .

Josef Linden was married and had three children. He lived in his hometown until 2016 before moving to a retirement home in Berg in 2016 . His wife Helene called Lena Linden, née Hamacher, died in 2015 after almost 65 years of marriage. His mother died in 1959 as a result of a traffic accident, just as one of her two sons was killed in an accident in 1991.

Political activity

After joining the CDU in 1968, Josef Linden began a political career in 1969 when he joined the council of the newly formed Veytal community in the Euskirchen district and was directly elected mayor. As part of the local government reform , the municipality was dissolved on January 1, 1972 and became part of the municipality or later city of Mechernich, of which Linden was a member until 1989. Until 1978 he was also the first deputy mayor there.

After the district council of the Euskirchen district initially elected him deputy district administrator in 1974 , Josef Linden , who joined the CDU in 1968, represented the district for four terms from his first election by the district council on October 27, 1976 until he was passed on October 12, 1994 Euskirchen as district administrator and was confirmed three times in his mat (1979, 1984 and 1989). During this period he belonged to several committees of the district council NW , so from 1977 to 1979 the building committee, the surveying committee and as a deputy member also the veterinary committee. From 1979 he was a member of the Committee for Spatial Planning, Economics and Transport, in 1984 he also became a member of the Committee for Constitution, Administration and Internal Security and from 1989 the Committee for Economics and Transport. With the change in the district office to Günter Rosenke , Linden also left the committees.

Josef Linden was a member of several committees, including from 1979 deputy and from 1984 to 1994 chairman of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Euskirchen, from 1975 to 1994 chairman of the shareholders' meeting and the administrative board of Kreiskrankenhaus Mechernich GmbH and from 1994 to 2000 chairman of the advisory board of the Geriatric Center Zülpich GmbH.
