Berg is a district of Mechernich in the district of Euskirchen , North Rhine-Westphalia . Mayor is Ferdinand Ley.

The street village is on the edge of the Zülpicher Börde and thus at the transition to the Eifel . Around the village are the places Vlatten and Hergarten from the district of Düren , as well as Bürvenich and Glehn from the district of Euskirchen. The main street of the village is Kreisstraße 10.
history
Berg was first mentioned by the Berg Wasserburg in 1350. There used to be two churches in the village. In addition to the current parish church of St. Peter , there was also a pilgrimage chapel , which was consecrated to St. Willibrordus . Copper mining and smelting used to take place in Berg .
On July 1, 1969, Berg was incorporated into Mechernich.
