The village is west of Mechernich. On the outskirts runs Federal Highway 266 from Mechernich to Kaller district Wall Thalerhöhe . The railway line from Mechernich to Kall also runs on the outskirts. The municipality of Kall borders directly on the place.

Kalenberg is characterized by mining . The former adjoining lead mine is now a landfill .

The foundation stone of the "Zur Heiligen Familie" chapel was laid in 1904. In 1970 the sacristy was added.

traffic

The VRS bus line 826, which runs outside of school traffic as a so-called TaxiBusPlus, ensures local passenger traffic with the neighboring towns and the city of Mechernich.
