Denrath is a district of Mechernich in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The street village is west of Mechernich. Through the village runs the federal highway 266 from Mechernich to Kaller district Wall Thalerhöhe .
Denrath was first mentioned in 1322 when a Rabado von Rode, at that time owner of the lost knight seat Rath, gave his free court "Dydenrode" (Denrath) to the Count of Luxembourg as a fief. This knight's seat was a submerged moated castle near Strempt .
