Schützendorf is a district of Mechernich in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen . In the place, tributaries of the Mühlenbach arise. The St. Michael Chapel was built in 1959; the original chapel building from 1783 is now in the Rheinisches Freilichtmuseum .

history

The first documentary mention was made in 1251 as Schussinrodde , when the knight Konrad von Schussinrodde donated land to the Steinfeld Monastery in Lückerath .

The Eifel-Höhen-Route long-distance cycle path runs through the village and runs as a circular route around and through the Eifel National Park .
