Bergheim is a district of Mechernich , Euskirchen district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The village is about two kilometers south of the city of Mechernich in the Hohes Venn-Eifel nature park .

The name of the place is derived from "village on the mountain". It used to be dominated by agriculture. The chapel , consecrated in 1985, is dedicated to St. Barbara , patron saint of miners . There used to be a lead mine in Bergheim.

District road 28 runs through the village .

On July 1, 1969, the municipality of Vussem-Bergheim was incorporated into Mechernich.
