Roggendorf is a district of Mechernich , Euskirchen district , North Rhine-Westphalia .
The village is on the federal highway 266 between Kommern and Weißenbrunnen .
The village is mentioned for the first time in 893 as Rochendorpht in the property register of the Prüm Abbey.
Roggendorf formed a community in the Vussem mayor of Schleiden district since the 19th century . The community of Roggendorf was incorporated into the community of Mechernich in 1914 .
There is a Catholic and a Protestant church in the village . The Protestant community was founded in 1867. The church building was built two years later.
The Catholic Church of St. Johannes is a branch church of St. Johannes Baptist in Mechernich . A chapel is mentioned as early as 1669. The current church was built in 1890. It is a brick basilica with a transept and a crossing tower . The yokes of the central nave are rectangular, as is the choir yoke . The apse is semicircular. Sacristies are attached to the choir yoke . In the church there is the three-part Roggendorf carved altar from around 1500, located in the Middle Rhine region, a gift from the Kreuser family. It comes from Kreuznach and was restored by R. Hieronymi in Bonn before it was transferred.
The Rath House was between Roggendorf and Strempt .
There has been a two-group day - care center in the village since 1985 , operated by the Arbeiterwohlfahrt .
