Friedrich Wilhelm von Schöning

Friedrich Wilhelm von Schöning (* 1660 probably in Schönrade ; † 1730 ) was a Prussian district administrator . From 1722 until his death he was in charge of the Landsberger Kreis in Neumark .

He came from the Pomeranian-Neumark noble family von Schöning and was a son of the landowner Georg Wilhelm von Schöning. His mother was born von Pfuel .

In 1655 he joined the Brandenburg army . He served in the regiment of Margrave Philip, with whom he was in action in Hungary against the Turks, in the Netherlands and in 1694 in Italy. In 1702 he, meanwhile owner of a company, was transferred to the newly established infantry regiment of Margrave Albrecht Friedrich , with whom he took part in the siege of Kaiserswerth in the same year . In 1705 he was adopted with the character of a lieutenant colonel .

As early as 1688 Schöning had married Anna Barbara, born von Schmalenberg and widowed von der Marwitz . From their son from their first marriage, he acquired the Jahnsfelde estates with a share of Zantoch and a share of 2/5 from Gralow at the beginning of the 18th century , all in the Landsberger Kreis in Neumark .

In 1722 Schöning was elected District Administrator of the Landsberger Kreis . After his death in 1730 he was succeeded as district administrator by his son George Wilhelm von Schöning , who had already been assigned to him as an adjunct in 1729 .

In the division of the estate between his children after his death, Gralow's share went to District Administrator George Wilhelm von Schöning , Jahnsfelde to Ludolph von Schöning.
