Friedrich Wilhelm de Wolff (born March 6, 1812 in Recklinghausen , † August 10, 1875 in Essen ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Friedrich de Wollf was the son of a sea ​​captain from the Netherlands and a Prussian major. After finishing school, he studied law and became a higher regional court trainee.

From January 16, 1844 to 1868, de Wolff was mayor of the Altenessen mayor , which was founded in 1813 and to which Frillendorf , Huttrop , Karnap , Schonnebeck , Katernberg , Rotthausen , Rüttenscheid and Stoppenberg belonged until 1874 . In personal union, de Wolff was also mayor of the city of Steele from January 16, 1844 . He held the office until May 6, 1851. In 1929 Steele was incorporated into the city of Essen.

In 1845 de Wolff married Ernestine, née Honigmann, from the Essen entrepreneur family, Ernst Honigmann, who was one of the founders of the Essen mechanical engineering company in 1866.

In Essen-Altenessen-Süd the former Albertstraße was named after him as De-Wolff-Straße in 1905.
