Friedrich von Schwartzkoppen

Johann Hermann Friedrich August Maximilian Freiherr von Schwartzkoppen-Rottorf (born January 15, 1819 in Haus Obereimer near Arnsberg, † May 29, 1897 in Weinheim ) was a German national liberal politician and publicist.

family

Schwartzkoppen, who was a Protestant denomination, was a son of the Duke of Nassau Chamberlain and Oberhofmarschall Friedrich von Schwartzkoppen (1784–1832) and his wife Isabella Wilhelmine Luise nee. von Nauendorff (1795–1873). In 1852 he married Johanne Charlotte geb. Freiin v. Berlichingen (1818-1897). His family was raised to the imperial nobility on February 22, 1688 and used the title of baron. This was confirmed in 1843 "again" in the Duchy of Nassau . In Prussia this did not take place and the family was considered to be a simple post office .

Life

From 1839 Schwartzkoppen was a law student at the University of Heidelberg , where he was a member of the Corps Nassovia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he became a Dr. jur. PhD. He entered the Nassau civil service, but soon settled as a landowner in Weinheim . In 1865/66 he was a member of the First Nassau Chamber as representative of the Count of Kielmansegge. Since he belonged to the opposition in the Hessian estates and voted against the funds for the war against Prussia , Adolph (Luxembourg) withdrew his dignity as chamberlain . From February 1867 to March 1870 he sat in the Reichstag (North German Confederation) for the Weinheim constituency (right wing of the Progressive Party and National Liberal Party, later Free Conservative Association), from 1867 to 1870 he was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency administrative district Wiesbaden 10 (right center , Free Conservative Party).
