Friis Arne Petersen

Friis Arne Petersen (born November 25, 1952 in Skagen ) is a Danish diplomat . He has been ambassador to Germany since August 2015 .

Petersen studied economics at the University of Copenhagen with a cand.polit. in June 1978. The following year he entered the Kingdom's foreign service. From 2005 to 2010 he was Ambassador to the United States and from 2010 to 2015 Ambassador to China. Since August 27, 2015, he has been ambassador to Germany and an accredited ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

In addition to Danish, Petersen also speaks English, French, German and Chinese. He is married to the teacher Birgitte (née Wilhelmsen) and has a son and two daughters.
