Fritz Koepcke

Fritz Koepcke (born October 6, 1914 in Peine ; † October 15, 1990 ) was a German football referee for the German Football Association .

Fritz Köpcke, father-in-law of the former FIFA referee Klaus Scheurell , was one of the co-founders of the SG Wusterhausen / Dosse after the Second World War in 1946 . In 1952 he was classified as a referee in the top division of football in the GDR, the Oberliga , and in 1955 he became the first internationally recognized referee in the GDR on the FIFA list. By 1967 he headed two international A matches (Romania - ČSSR and USSR - Uruguay) and six European Cup matches.

In the 1960s he worked as the mayor of the northern Brandenburg municipality of Wusterhausen / Dosse.

During his time as a referee in the top division, he led a total of three finals for the FDGB Cup : On September 14, 1952, the SG Volkspolizei Dresden against Einheit Pankow Berlin (3-0) in the stadium on Normannenstrasse in Berlin-Lichtenberg in front of 18,000 spectators , on December 16, 1956 SC Chemie Halle-Leuna against ZASK Vorwärts Berlin (2: 1) in the Ernst-Grube-Stadion , Magdeburg , in front of 25,000 spectators and on April 30, 1966 the game of BSG Chemie Leipzig against BSG Lok Stendal (1 : 0) in the Müllerwiese stadium , Bautzen , in front of 15,000 spectators.

After his active career, he was appointed a member of the DFV Presidium and Chairman of the Referees Committee in the DFV.
