Fritz Schiesser
Fritz Schiesser (born April 23, 1954 in Haslen ; resident in Haslen and Linthal ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ). From 2008 to 2019 he chaired the ETH Board .
Schiesser was a member of the Council of States for the canton of Glarus from June 5, 1990 to December 31, 2007 . In 2003/2004 he was President of the Council of States . In 2007 he was elected President of the ETH Board, the strategic management body of the ETH Domain, for the period 2008–2011 and therefore resigned as a Council of States at the end of 2007. He was confirmed in office for a further four years in 2011 and 2015.
Schiesser was a member of the District Administrator of the Canton of Glarus from 1985 to 2009 . He is a lawyer and notary by profession .
