Fritz Schulte (police officer)

Fritz Schulte (born December 28, 1891 in Bergerhof ; † December 15, 1955 ) was a German police officer and a founding member and first chairman of the police union .

Life

Fritz Schulte began an apprenticeship as a locksmith in 1905 . After completing his apprenticeship, he worked in the Rhineland and Westphalia. In 1913 he was drafted for military service in Berlin , where he was also used as a pioneer during the First World War . After the end of the war, he joined the municipal police service in Barmen in 1919 , where he stayed until 1922. In 1922 he switched to the state police service with the rank of sergeant major .

He joined the Association of Prussian Polizeibeamter (Schraderverband), where in 1932 he acted as an observer of the protection police and at the same time was chairman of the Gaus West ( province of Rhineland , Westphalia and Hesse-Nassau ) .

After the National Socialist " seizure of power " he was taken into " protective custody " on October 4, 1933 and imprisoned in the Kemna concentration camp , later in the Neusustrum concentration camp . He remained in custody until January 15, 1934. On January 22nd of the same year, he was released from the police force under the Law Restoring the Professional Civil Service . His dismissal was justified with the functionary activity in the Schrader Association and his SPD membership. To earn his living, Schulte worked as a travel agent in Duisburg until 1940 before he was called up for military service.

After the war ended , Schulte returned to the police force in October 1945. He first heads a police station in Wuppertal. On August 3, 1948, he was appointed police director, in 1950 he became head of the police in Wuppertal. In 1954 Schulte retired .

Schulte was a founding member of the police union founded in 1950 and its first chairman until his death on December 15, 1955.
