Oliver Malchow

Oliver Malchow (born June 29, 1963 in Lübeck ) is a German police officer . Since May 13, 2013 he has been federal chairman of the Police Union (GdP). He succeeded Bernhard Witthaut .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1983 , Malchow entered the senior service of the Schleswig-Holstein police , where he began studying at the Altenholz technical college , which he completed in 1986. After completing his training, he worked for the riot police as a trainer and specialist teacher for a training group of 100, before he began training for the higher service in 2002 and graduated from the Police Management Academy in Münster-Hiltrup (now the German Police University ) in 2003 . After completing his training, he took over the management of the Bad Oldesloe criminal police station , and later moved to Eutin . Since May 2013 he has been head of the criminal investigation department in Kiel .

Malchow is a member of the SPD .

Union activity

Malchow joined the GdP in 1985. In 1993 he was elected deputy regional chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein district. In 1997 he took over the role of regional district chairman. Since 2010 he has also been a member of the Federal Executive Board. It was not until January 2013 that he became deputy federal chairman of the GdP.
