Fritz Ustrich

Fritz Ustrich (born July 23, 1922 in Munich ; † November 21, 2013 ) was a German educator.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1940, Fritz Ustrich was initially committed to work and military service. After the end of the war he studied mathematics and physics at the Technical University of Munich . From 1951 he was a high school teacher in Munich and Dachau.

In 1964, Ustrich was the founding rector of the newly established state high school in Pfaffenhofen. In 1968 he moved into a new building and in 1970 he incorporated the high school of the Benedictine abbey in Scheyern . The school now operated as the Schyren-Gymnasium Pfaffenhofen . As the senior director of studies, he was committed to the Open Gymnasium . From 1972 to 1986 he was the headmaster of the Hans-Leinberger-Gymnasium in Landshut .

In 1972 he was appointed ministerial representative for the grammar schools in Lower Bavaria. He was the initiator of the establishment of seminar schools for the training of high school teachers in Landshut, Passau, Straubing, Deggendorf, Pfarrkirchen and Vilshofen. He was also committed to expanding the content of the high schools in Lower Bavaria and their structural infrastructures. He expanded the state school counseling and set up a school psychological service. The regional teacher training and also the establishment of an internship office for students of the teaching post at grammar schools was set up by Ustrich.

Ustrich was also the spokesman for the ministerial representatives in Bavaria and the contact person for the ministry of education. From 1978 until his retirement in 1986 and at a request from Hans Maier , he headed the specialist committees for shortening training times at schools and universities as well as youth issues, church affairs and media in Bavaria until 1992.

He held numerous other honorary positions, such as a member of the state committee of the Red Cross Youth (1976–1986), chairman of the development aid association in Munich and speaker at the Hanns Seidel Foundation for the training of parents' councils. He was the founder and leader of the Friends of Landshut of the Munich University Society.

In 1976 Fritz Ustrich was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Cardinal de Fuerstenberg and invested in Trier Cathedral on May 8, 1976 by Franz Hengsbach , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy . He was an officer of the Order since 1995 .
