The performances of the teams in Group II were not very positive either - despite the world champions Brazil. The disappointing Brazilians drew two goalless draws against Yugoslavia and Scotland and a less than spectacular 3-0 win against Zaire. Since there was no winner between Yugoslavia and Scotland at 1-1, the goal difference decided to move into the final round. The Yugoslavs' 9-0 victory over Zaire struck through, while the Scots only won 2-0 against the black Africans and had to go home.
