The department of Curuzú Cuatiá is located in the south of the province of Corrientes in northeast Argentina and is one of 25 administrative units in the province.
In the north it borders on the department of Mercedes , in the east on the departments of Paso de los Libres and Monte Caseros , in the south on the province of Entre Ríos and in the west on the departments of Sauce , Esquina , Goya and Lavalle .
