The Empedrado Department is located in the northwest of the Corrientes Province in northeast Argentina and is one of the province's 25 administrative units .
In the north it is bordered by the Department of Capital , in the northeast by the Department of San Luis del Palmar , in the southeast by the Department of Mburucuyá , in the south by the Department of Saladas and in the west by the provinces of Chaco and Santa Fe , of which it passes through the Río Paraná is separated.
The capital of the Department Empedrado is the city of the same name, Empedrado .
