The Mburucuyá department is located in the northern center of the Corrientes province in northeast Argentina and is one of the province's 25 administrative units .

In the north it is bordered by the departments of Empedrado , San Luis del Palmar and General Paz , in the southeast by the department of Concepción and in the southwest by the department of Saladas .

The capital of the Mburucuyá department is the Mburucuyá of the same name .
