After graduating from high school, Kılıç studied at the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS) with a focus on trainer profile. He then worked as a lecturer at the German Sport University Cologne until June 2008 and was a coach and sports director of the 1st youth soccer school in Cologne .

Career as a player

Kılıç began playing football in the youth of SpVgg EGC Wirges , for which he played until 1998 and was used in the third-class Oberliga Südwest at the age of 15 . This is followed by positions at the association league club SC Renault Brühl , the district division club Blau-Weiß Brühl (2001/02), with whom he took part in the DFB Cup , and the association league club PSI Yurdumspor Cologne (2002/03). He ended his active career at SG Roßbach / Verscheid in summer 2004.

Career as a coach

After working at the German Sport University in Cologne, Kılıç was from July 2008 to June 2009 under the Croatian Milan Šašić and his successor Alois Schwartz assistant coach at 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Šašić brought Kılıç in November 2009 as an assistant coach to MSV Duisburg , for whom he worked until June 2012 after Šašić's dismissal. At the Turkish first division club Kasımpaşa Istanbul , Kılıç was assistant coach under Metin Diyadin from July to September 23, 2012 , after his dismissal until October 7, 2012 he was the interim coach of the team, which under his direction won a victory against the 20-time Turkish champions Fenerbahçe Istanbul and a loss. In September 2013, the third division 1. FC Saarbrücken signed Šašić as head coach and Kılıç as his assistant coach. After five months the Croat was released; since mid-February 2014, Kılıç was the team's head coach. On June 20, 2015, his contract was terminated. On New Year's Eve, Kılıç signed a contract with Alemannia Aachen , which ran until June 2017 and which he extended in 2017 to June 2020. He announced that he would leave the club when the contract expired because he basically no longer wants to work as a coach in the regional league.
