The Fundy Rose is a ferry from the Canadian Bay Ferries Limited , which entered service in 2000 as Blue Star Ithaki for the Greek shipping company Blue Star Ferries . The Fundy Rose has been used on the Saint John to Digby route since July 2015 .

history

The Blue Star Ithaki was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering under the hull number 7504 and launched on November 24, 1999. Originally the ship was supposed to be named Superferry Ithaki . In May 2000 the Blue Star Ithaki was delivered to Blue Star Ferries and put into service in June 2000 on the route from Piraeus via Syros , Paros , Naxos and Ios to Santorini . In June 2002 the ship switched to the route from Piraeus via Tinos , Mykonos and Paros to Naxos, where it remained in service for the next twelve years.

In October 2014 the Blue Star Ithaki was sold to the Canadian Bay Ferries Limited and renamed Canada2014 after her last voyage for Blue Star Ferries in November . On December 12, 2014, the ship arrived in Saint John for conversion. In May 2015 it was renamed Fundy Rose and after completion of the renovation work it was put into service on July 18, 2015 on the route from Saint John to Digby. On this route, it replaced the Princess of Acadia , which entered service in 1971 and was retired shortly afterwards.
