Excuse Me Moses is an Austrian rock band from Vienna .

history

Funkalicious

Founded under the name Funkalicious in the summer of 2000, the band produced the EP Deduction in 2002 and released their album Perfekta in 2004 , which briefly appeared at number 42 on the Ö3 album charts. The musicians didn't find a big audience with their funk rock style. In May 2005, drummer and founding member Gerhard Bergauer left the band, and Martin Scheer took his place .

Excuse Me Moses

By redefining it as Excuse Me Moses , the group focused more on rock music and was first mentioned in public when they took part in the newcomer music casting Ö3 Soundcheck 2005, where they took third place. In the course of the Ö3 promotion, they appeared in May 2006 in the opening act of a concert by Bon Jovi and Nickelback in Innsbruck. At the end of the summer of 2006 her first single, Summer Sun , was released, which was produced and arranged by Alexander Kahr . It reached number 33 in the Austrian charts and stayed in the charts for five weeks. Half a year later, their second single, Not In Love Anymore , came out, which did not make it into the charts. In the summer of 2007, the band placed 20 on the charts with the double single Butterfly Tree / Vital Signs .

Their first album, 1st Last Will , was released by Excuse Me Moses on June 15, 2007. As a PR campaign , the rockers played a short illegal concert on Vienna's Stephansplatz from the back of a truck, which was also reported on the ORF program “szene”. 1st Last Will entered the Ö3 album charts at number 13, where it stayed for 10 weeks. The group's most recent appearances in front of a larger audience were at the Nova Rock Music Festival in Nickelsdorf, Burgenland, and at the Danube Island Festival in Vienna .

Excuse Me Moses, March 28, 2008

On January 11th, 2008 the new single Godzilla Killa (Superhero) was released , which is currently not on any album. It reached number 48 in the charts. An original version of the song has already been released on the EP Deduction .

In March 2008 the single Butterfly Tree was nominated nationally for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Music Download of the Year category.

On June 25, 2008, Godzilla Killa was also marketed in Finland by Universal Music Finland before the Riihimäki Rock Festival performance . The song became the soundtrack of the computer game Ski Challenge 2008. During the summer of 2008, a promotional tour through Scandinavia as well as the release of the debut album and a tour of Austria followed.

In the spring of 2009, Excuse Me Moses released their second album Pole Shift and the accompanying single I Wonder .

In autumn 2010 Excuse Me Moses was nominated for the Austrian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 .

In February 2013 the third studio album III, produced by Oliver Pinelli, was released on the indie label Global Records in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The first single was My Friend .
