Furathiocarb can be obtained by reacting n -butanol with phosgene , methylamine , sulfur dichloride and carbofuran .

Furathiocarb is a water-insoluble, colorless solid. As a technical active ingredient, furathiocarb can appear as a yellow oil.

use

Furathiocarb is used as an insecticide against insects living in the ground in maize, rape, sorghum , sugar beet, sunflower and vegetables. It is a cholinesterase inhibitor.

Admission

The use of furathiocarb as an active ingredient in plant protection products is not permitted in the European Union.

In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no pesticides with this active ingredient are permitted.
