The judicial district of Czudyn ( Romanian : Ciudeiu ; Ruthenian : Czudyn ) was a judicial district in the Duchy of Bukovina which was subordinate to the District Court of Czudyn . The judicial district comprised areas of central Bukovina. The area was added to Romania after the First World War and is now part of the Ukrainian part of Bukovina ( Chernivtsi Oblast ).

history

In the course of the reorganization of the judiciary in the Austrian Empire, the general principles of the court system in the crown lands were approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I in June 1849 . Justice Minister Anton von Schmerling then had plans to organize the judiciary in Bukovina drawn up, which the emperor also approved by ordinance on November 6, 1850. The reorganization went hand in hand with the abolition of the princely courts as well as the patrimonial courts , with Schmerling originally planning the establishment of 17 district courts and the Bukovina to be subordinated to the Stanislau Higher Regional Court . In the end, the authorities created only 15 district courts, which were assigned to the Chernivtsi Regional Court and the Lemberg Higher Regional Court . The area around Czudyn was initially part of the Storozynetz judicial district . The judicial district of Czudyn was not established until October 1, 1913, consisting of the municipalities and manor areas of the judicial district of Storozynetz Althütte, Augustendorf, Moldauisch Banilla including the separate manor areas of Hnilcze and Koszczuja, Budenitz, Czircsz, Czudan, Davideny, Idzesti, Kras-Ilstie, Kornaczestie Krasna-Putna, Kupka, Neuhütte and Petroutz was merged.
