The area was added to Romania after the First World War and is now part of the Romanian part of the Bukovina in northern Romania ( Suceava district ).

history

In the course of the reorganization of the judiciary in the Austrian Empire, the general principles of the court system in the crown lands were approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I in June 1849 . Justice Minister Anton von Schmerling then had plans to organize the judiciary in Bukovina drawn up, which the emperor also approved by ordinance on November 6, 1850. The reorganization went hand in hand with the abolition of the princely courts as well as the patrimonial courts , with Schmerling originally planning the establishment of 17 district courts and the Bukovina to be subordinated to the Stanislau Higher Regional Court . In the end, the authorities created only 15 district courts, which were assigned to the Chernivtsi Regional Court and the Lemberg Higher Regional Court . The establishment of the mixed district offices, which had to look after the administration as well as the judiciary, finally became officially effective on September 29, 1855, whereby the judicial district Radautz from the communities Radautz with Wadu Władyki, Andreasfalva with Mitoka, Badeutz, Biłka, Burla, Alt- Fratautz, Neu-Fratautz, Fürstenthal, Ober-Horodnik, Unter-Horodnik, Karlsberg, Mardzina, Ober-Miłeszeutz, Putna, Satulmare, Strascha, Suczawitza, Ober-Wików with Biwoleria, Unter-Wików, Woytinell, Wołowetz, Seletin with Frasin, Tomnatik, Ruska, Paltin, Płoska, Camerale, Ulma, Ropoczel, Nesepitul, Bistritza with Kirlibaba, Izwor with Jarowitza, Sarata, Moldawa, Szypal Camerale. For crimes and offenses, the Radautz District Court also served as the first instance for the Solka and Sereth judicial districts. As part of the separation of the political from judicial administration made the judicial district Radautz from 1868 together with the judicial district Solka ( Solca ) the district Radautz . In 1886, the establishment of a further judicial district was determined, for which the three communities Straza, Schipot and Seletin including manors were separated from the judicial district of Radautz and merged to form the judicial district of Seletin . The ordinance came into effect on June 1, 1888. On October 1, 1893, the Solka judicial district was detached from the Radautz district and combined with the Gurahumora judicial district to form the Gurahumora district , whereupon the Radautz district again consisted of two judicial districts.

The judicial district of Ober-Wików was to be separated from the judicial district of Radautz in 1914 , whereby the communities and manors Biłka, Karlsberg, Ober-Wików, Putna, Straza and Unter-Wików were to be subordinated to the newly created district court of Ober-Wików. With the outbreak of the First World War, the establishment of the Ober-Wików District Court was omitted, which meant that the establishment of the judicial district of the same name was never valid.

The judicial district of Radautz had a population of 41,109 in 1854 in an area of 34.8 square miles. In 1869 the judicial district housed a population of 55,229 people, by 1900 the population had increased to 70,015 people.
