The Göllheimer Häuschen is an isolated settlement in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . Despite the name, it does not belong to Göllheim , but to the neighboring community Kerzenheim .

location

The Göllheimer house is located in the stump forest on the northern edge of the Palatinate Forest , on the extreme western boundary of Kerzenheim. Originally the area belonged to the property of the Cistercian convent Rosenthal . To the north is the community of Göllheim, to the east is Rosenthal , which also belongs to Kerzenheim , to Ramsen to the south . Breunigweiler is to the west , although there is no direct road connection to it.

The Göllheimer little house , located on an ancient forest road, initially served the wealthy princes of Nassau-Weilburg as a hunting lodge or forester's lodge. In the 18th century the building was sold and converted into a restaurant , which it remains to this day. In 1778 it was mentioned as an inn.

Infrastructure

State road 396, which connects it with Göllheim and Ramsen, runs through the homestead. The district road 78, which branches off to the north, establishes a connection to the Rosenthalerhof and to Kerzenheim.

Varia

The legend reports that the “Schinderhannes” is said to be wrong here, as well as Johann Martin Denzer, a robber from the stump forest who was beheaded in Mainz in 1802, who was referred to as a “boy thief” . According to another legend, the operators themselves were robbers in the early 19th century and murdered many travelers.

Not far from the Göllheimer Häuschen in the direction of Ramsen, in the forest, right next to the L 396, is the Lassmichinruh hunting lodge of the former Palatinate Nazi Gauleiter Josef Bürckel , in which he frequented a lot of party celebrities at the time. a. with Hermann Göring .
