Günter from Dorp

Günter vom Dorp (born October 17, 1950 in Mönchengladbach ) is a journalist, singer, author, presenter and radio presenter . He last moderated on the radio station WDR 4 and was employed by the WDR for thirty years.

Life

The trained foreign trade clerk began his radio work at the Belgian broadcaster BRF in Eupen .

From 1990 onwards, von Dorp worked for several local radio stations in North Rhine-Westphalia , and in 1996 he joined WDR 2. Here he first moderated the night shift and the ARD Popnacht , later also the programs Soundfiles (today: Musikclub ) and for two and a half years between Rhine and Weser . Since 2002 he has also been working for WDR 4, where he worked as an author and presenter for the film music show Flimmerkiste until April 30, 2017 . He moderated the music café until March 2011 . Von Dorp described the WDR-2 moderation on the afternoon of September 11, 2001 as the greatest challenge .

Vom Dorp can also be heard as a presenter of extraordinary program events : for example, he presented the WDR-2 Beatnacht, the 2000 Millennium Party and the special broadcast on the introduction of the euro .

Günter vom Dorp has been a singer and bandleader in the sixties band FUN for many years. He is also active as a playwright and actor. In 2006 and 2007 he wrote the scripts for Sounds of Silence and Dinner for FUN. Both productions were performed in the Mönchengladbach Theater. He directed and staged both pieces himself. He also appeared in the ensemble.

In 2006 he started his own cabaret solo program under the title I'm not finished yet. As an author, he won the poetry slam of the Krefeld-Mönchengladbach municipal theaters in April 2006.

In recent years he has also organized and hosted large open-air events with well-known artists; including BAP, UB40, Annett Louisan , Götz Alsmann , Paul Carrack , Heinz Rudolf Kunze , Purple Schulz , Pe Werner , ELO Classik, Ray Wilson , Roger Cicero , Köbes Underground , Anastacia , Johannes Oerding , Gregor Meyle and Barbara Schöneberger .
