Günther W. Gellermann

Günther Walter Gellermann (born July 17, 1930 in Bremen , † December 25, 2002 in Koblenz ) was a German civil servant and historian .

Life

Gellermann initially completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and worked in this area for several years. He successfully passed a gifted test and studied political science from 1953 to 1960 at the Munich School of Politics (diploma 1957) and history and geography at the Free University of Berlin . In 1960 he passed the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools. He then completed his legal clerkship and passed the assessor exam in 1962.

Then he was active in the school service. In 1964 he became teacher . From 1965 to 1971 he was district councilor for public education in the Schöneberg district . In 1971 he switched from the SPD to the CDU .

In 1981 he was with Andreas Hillgruber at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Cologne with the dissertation Die Army Wenck. Establishment, deployment and end of the 12th German Army in 1945 as Dr. phil. PhD.
