GM 406F
The GM 406F ( Groundmaster 406 fixed ) is an Active Electronically Scanned Array radar system for air defense from the family of GM 400 radar systems.
system
The GM 406F consists of an air surveillance radar in semiconductor technology and a secondary radar and is a modified version of the relocatable GM 400 radar from the manufacturer ThalesRaytheonSystems for the requirements of the German Air Force . The radar systems were manufactured in the Thales factory in Limours , France .
Deployment in Germany
Operational users in Germany, the Bundeswehr Operations Service of the Air Force (EinsFüDstLw), whose official name is Active radar detector round insert guide service Lw - ared . ARED is the abbreviation for Active Radar for All-round Guidance . As part of the project, it was installed by the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) to replace the six medium power radars in the existing buildings at the previous locations, at a unit price of 21 million euros.
Further radar devices of the operational command service in Germany are RRP 117 , HADR (radar) and RAT 31DL .
In the period between July 2013 and August 2015, the six GM 406F commissioned were put into operation in Germany:
