Gabriel Villaruz Reyes (born August 3, 1941 in Kalibo , Aklan , Philippines ) is a Filipino clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Antipolo .

Life

Gabriel Villaruz Reyes received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Manila on December 21, 1968 .

On January 20, 1981 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Selsea and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Manila. The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on April 3 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Capiz , Antonio José Frondosa , and the Auxiliary Bishop in Manila, Amado Paulino y Hernandez .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kalibo on November 21, 1992 . His inauguration took place on January 12, 1993. On December 7, 2002, John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Antipolo. The inauguration took place on January 29, 2003.

On September 9, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
