Gabriele Blell

Gabriele Blell (* 1957 in Radeberg ) is a German English studies specialist , foreign language didactic specialist and specialist book author . She is professor of English didactics at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover .

Life

To 1980 Gabriele Blell studied the 1976 teaching subjects English and Russian at the University of Education Potsdam . There she completed a postgraduate course until 1983 . In 1984 she was with the dissertation On the social function and aesthetic form in the early work of Ernest Hemingway (1923-1929) for Dr. phil. PhD . She then worked in various positions until 1991, from 1988 as a scientific aspirant at the University of Potsdam .

Her habilitation followed in 1992 on the subject of motivation and foreign language teaching with younger adults at the University of Potsdam. In 1998 she made her an adjunct professor. From 1999 Blell worked there as a research assistant and private lecturer at the Institute for English and American Studies . In October 1999 she was elected Vice President for Teaching and Studies. In February 2000 the University of Hanover appointed Gabriele Blell to the professorship for the didactics of English. Her research and publications focus on literary didactics and the use of music for the development of audio literacy in foreign language teaching.
