Gabriele Holzner (born May 25, 1960 in Munich ) is a German journalist and television director of the Hessischer Rundfunk .

Life

As the daughter of a master electrician and a legal assistant, Gabriele Holzner grew up with a younger brother in Munich. After graduating from high school and an au pair stay in Marseille , she studied political science , history and communication science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1980 to 1985 .

Professional career

From 1980 to 1991 Gabriele Holzner was a freelance journalist, u. a. for Bayerischer Rundfunk (radio and television), the Süddeutsche Zeitung and independent production companies. From 1987 to 1989 she did her traineeship at Bayerischer Rundfunk.

From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a freelancer for the North German Broadcasting Company in the State Broadcasting House of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (“ Nordmagazin ”, “ Hanseblick ”, “ ARD-aktuell ”). In 1993 she became studio manager for state politics at the NDR regional radio station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In 1997 she switched to ARD-aktuell in Hamburg, where she was the editor in charge of the news and news of the day until 2000 .

In 2000 she switched to Hessischer Rundfunk and was initially head of the state political studio of the hr in the state capital Wiesbaden.
