Joshua Mees (born April 15, 1996 in Lebach ) is a German soccer player . The striker is under contract with 1. FC Union Berlin .
Career
societies
Mees started playing football in the youth of FV Lebach. During his youth he switched to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim via 1. FC Saarbrücken , where he lived with a host family with four other players. Mees played for the Hoffenheim team during the U-19 period under the then youth coach Julian Nagelsmann , with whom he qualified for the 2014 championship final. He and his team won the final 5-0 against Hannover 96 and thus became German A youth champions. A season later, Mees' second A youth year, the striker was the top scorer in the A-Juniors Bundesliga with 20 goals and qualified again for the final. There Hoffenheim failed 3-1 against the U-19 of FC Schalke 04 . In the following season, Mees was able to complete the preparation with the TSG professionals.
In August 2015, Mees decided to move to SC Freiburg on loan . The loan period should be two years. Mees was initially close to the first team for the Freiburg team, but was not used by the professionals due to persistent back problems and ended his loan after a year.
In the following season 2016/17 the striker returned to the Kraichgau and was an important part of the reserve of the TSG: He scored in 32 league games twelve gates, and extended his contract until 2019. Immediately afterwards moved Mees on loan for the season 2017/18 to second division SSV Jahn Regensburg . He scored his first goal for Jahn in the 4-2 away win in the derby against FC Ingolstadt 04 . At the end of the season, the striker had six goals in 22 games.
For the 2018/19 season, Mees moved to 1. FC Union Berlin. The Iron he signed a contract until 2021. His first goals in the Union jersey scored the striker at the 4: 0 home win against SpVgg Greuther Furth , when he brought in the 5th and 10th minute his team with a brace in the lead . He made his Bundesliga debut on August 31, 2019 (3rd matchday) in a 3-1 win in the home game against Borussia Dortmund with a substitution for two-time goalscorer Marius Bülter in the 76th minute.

In September 2015, Mees made two appearances for the German U-20 national team (2-0 win against Italy and 1-2 loss against Poland ).
