Martin Sebastian Andersson (born July 15, 1991 in Ängelholm ) is a Swedish football player who has been under contract with 1. FC Union Berlin since the 2018/19 season . On August 24, 2019, he became the club's first Bundesliga shooter.

Career

Andersson played at Helsingborgs IF in his youth . In 2008 he left the club, who no longer wanted to rely on him, in the direction of Ängelholms FF . Here he established himself and quickly established himself as a regular player in the Superettan in the 2010 second division season - he was in the starting line-up in 22 of his season games, he scored five goals during the season. In the following season he was at the side of Mikael Dahlgren , Robin Staaf and Marcus Lindberg with twelve goals this season one of the guarantees that the club reached the relegation to Allsvenskan as third in the table . Here, too, he was successful both in the first leg against Syrianska FC in a 2-1 home win as a goalscorer, as well as in the second leg to the 1-1 intermediate result. Shortly before the end of stoppage time, however, after an own goal by David Bennhage to make it 3-1, the decision was made in favor of Syrianska FC's relegation.

However, Andersson had aroused desires in the House of Lords, in December 2011 the first division team Kalmar FF signed him . He signed a four-year contract with the 2008 master craftsman. Shortly before, he had made his debut in November in a 1-0 victory in the Swedish U-21 team over Malta with a goal from Jiloan Hamad . At his new club he could not prevail and came mainly as a substitute to train, only in 17 of his 52 league games he was in the regular formation in the following two and a half years. At the same time, he was no longer considered in the junior selection.

In the summer of 2014 Andersson moved on within Allsvenskan, with league rivals Djurgårdens IF he signed a contract with the opening of the transfer period on August 1st. At the end of the season, he was successful in 13 top division games six times for the new club as a goalscorer, helping the club to seventh place in the table. Also in the following season he appeared similarly dangerous with seven goals this season, again with sixth place in the table it was enough for a placement in the first half of the table. At the beginning of 2016 he still played in the group stage of the national cup competition 2015/16 for the Stockholm club before he was transferred to the reigning champions IFK Norrköping in mid-March within the Allsvenskan .

At IFK Norrköping, Andersson immediately became a long-runner, in the 2016 season he played all 30 league games. With 14 goals this season, he also was one of the most prolific players of the championship, tied with Viðar Örn Kjartansson from Malmo FF - who was, however, changed already abroad in the summer - he finished the season behind the 17 times successful John Owoeri of BK Hacken second place of List of goalscorers. He kept the club in a three-way battle with Malmö FF and AIK in the race to defend their title for a long time, and ultimately the team qualified third in the table for the qualifying rounds for the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League . He then received an invitation from national coach Janne Andersson for the opening international games in 2017. After his debut in the 2-1 defeat against Ivory Coast on January 8, 2017, he scored his first two four days later in a 6-0 win over the Slovak national team International goal .

On August 31, 2017, Andersson moved to the second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern . On matchday 5 he scored his first goal for FCK in the 1: 2 away defeat against Holstein Kiel in his first game. In the home game against Greuther Fürth he managed a hat trick within nine minutes on matchday 9 ; he made all the goals in the 3-0 win and thus ensured the Palatinate's first win of the season.

After FCK's relegation to the 3rd division , Andersson moved to 1. FC Union Berlin in June 2018 . Andersson signed a contract until June 30, 2020. With the first promotion to the Bundesliga , he made his debut in this on August 18, 2019 (1st matchday) in the 0: 4 defeat in the home game against RB Leipzig . On August 24, 2019 (2nd matchday) he scored the first Bundesliga goal in the club history of 1. FC Union Berlin in a 1-1 draw in the away game against FC Augsburg with the goal in the 80th minute.
