Gabrielle von Neumann-Spallart
Gabrielle von Neumann-Spallart (born January 9, 1851 in Vienna , † June 18, 1930 in Radebeul ) was an Austrian composer who was married to the Neumann-Spallart family .
Life
She was the daughter of court and court advocate Joseph Benedict (* 1809 in Strasbourg / Carinthia), who was raised to hereditary nobility on August 8, 1873 by Franz Joseph I under the name " Benedict von Mautenau " Wife Maria, b. Lemminger.
Gabrielle (also: Gabriele) first grew up in Vienna. On July 31, 1871, she married the Austrian economist and statistician Franz Xaver von Neumann-Spallart . From this marriage the son Anatol (1872-1914) was born. After the death of Franz Xaver in 1888, Gabrielle von Neumann-Spallart moved to Dresden and later to Serkowitz in the Villa Leila , where she devoted herself more to her compositional work. Her grandson Max Georg von Spallart was also a composer and conductor at the Zwickau City Theater .
A large bundle of compositions, letters, photos, manuscripts and documents from 1830 on from the estate of Gabrielle von Neumann-Spallart was auctioned on the Internet in January 2006. This primarily contained manuscripts for her plays and compositions, which she edited mostly self-published, as well as her collected music albums and the correspondence with her daughter Susanne, who was born after her father's death. At that time, Gabrielle von Neumann-Spallart lived with her family in Radebeul near Dresden. From this time are u. a. Evidence of family impoverishment exists. It is z. B. the indebtedness of the inhabited villa or the sale of silverware and pictures to the Tyrolean State Museum in Innsbruck . The description of old securities, such as state annuity bonds (Vienna 1893) and state bonds (Vienna 1868), also dates from this period. The auctioned lot also contained Gabrielle's marriage certificate with Franz Xaver von Neumann-Spallart as well as a certified copy from 1888 of the nobility certificate for her father, Joseph Benedict von Mautenau.
