The Gaislachkogel (also Hinterer Geislachkogel , Gaislacher Kogel or Geislacher Kogel ) is 3056 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Ötztal Alps in Tyrol , Austria . It is located west of Sölden in the Ötztal and north of the Venter Valley . The next higher mountain is the Äußere Schwarze Schneid ( 3255 m ), which can be reached in 2.5 hours via the western ridge. To the southeast is the 2982 m high Vordere Geislachkogel in front of it.
A marked hiking trail leads from the south through the Gaislachkar with the Gaislacher See (also Geislachsee , 2704 m ) to the summit, another from the northeast.
In 2015, several scenes for the film James Bond 007: Specter were filmed at the Gaislachkogel at the summit restaurant Ice Q designed by the architect Johann Obermoser , where the James Bond adventure world "007 Elements" was opened on July 12, 2018.
Gaislachkogelbahn
The Gaislachkogelbahn leads from Sölden up to 3,041 m , just below the summit, which can be easily climbed from the mountain station. There is a ski area on the Gaislachkogel that is connected to the Giggijoch ski area. In 1971 the Gaislachkogel and Hochsölden ski areas were merged. A year later, the Ötztal Glacier Road was built to the Rettenbachferner . This meant that the Sölden ski area was guaranteed snow all year round for the first time.
The lift, built in 1966, was renewed in 2010; The 1st section was replaced by an 8-person monocable gondola and the 2nd section by a 3S gondola , on which a scene for the film James Bond 007: Specter was also filmed.
