The gallery at the Albertina

The gallery at the Albertina Zetter is a gallery in Vienna's 1st district, Inner City, in the immediate vicinity of the Albertina art museum that gives it its name . The focus of the gallery is on Austrian art of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Christa Zetter, a trained sculptor and expert in Art Nouveau and Art Deco , founded the gallery at the Albertina in 1973 . After her daughter Katharina Zetter-Karner took over the gallery in 2003, it was expanded and renamed the gallery at the Albertina Zetter . After another expansion in 2017, the gallery at the Albertina now presents paintings, sculptures and design objects on almost 400 m² of display area, which extends over three levels.

The gallery organizes several exhibitions every year on individual artists or thematic areas, which are usually accompanied by self-produced publications. In spring and autumn, the most beautiful new acquisitions are presented in the course of special exhibitions. The gallery also regularly takes part in renowned art fairs: Art & Antique, which takes place at Easter in the Salzburg Residence and in autumn in the Vienna Hofburg, Art Austria, which took place for the first time in 2017 in the Liechtenstein Summer Palace, and the international one Art fair highlights in the Residenz zu Munich.
