Galina Petrovna Arsenkina ( Russian Гали́на Петро́вна Арсе́нькина , born June 6, 1991 in Selenogorsk , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a  Russian  curler . She is currently playing second in  Alina Kovalyova's team .

Career

Arsenkina played for the first time internationally at the Mixed European Championship 2008 as a lead in Alexander Kirikow's team; the team finished fourth. In 2009 she played at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival as a lead in Anna Sidorova's Russian team ; the team took fourth place. In the same year she played at the Junior World Championship as a substitute for Margarita Fomina's team and finished fourth. At the Junior World Championships 2010 she was fifth with Anna Sidorowa. The following year she won the bronze medal as lead in the Sidorowa team; The team was able to repeat this success in 2012 .

At the  European Championships in 2016  , she played second in Viktorija Moissejewa's team . The team won the gold medal by beating the Swedish team of Skip  Anna Hasselborg . After the  round robin  , the Russian team was only fourth, but were able to  defeat Eve Muirhead's Scottish team in the semi-finals  and move into the final.

In December 2017, she and the Moissejewa team won the elimination tournament for participation in the  2018 Olympic Winter Games  against Anna Sidorova's team   4-1 and competed under the banner of the  Olympic Athletes from Russia  in  Pyeongchang  . Together with her teammates, she finished ninth after two wins and seven defeats in the Round Robin .

At the 2018 World Cup in North Bay , Canada , she played in the second position under Skip Viktorija Moissejewa. After a defeat in the semi-finals against the Swedish team around Anna Hasselborg, she and the Russian team beat the US team around Jamie Sinclair in the game for third place and won the bronze medal. Since Moissejewa's retirement from active curling, Arsenkina has played in Alina Kovalyova's team, with whom she came fourth at the 2018 European Championships .

Private life

Her brother Alexei Stukalski is also a curler and took part in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
