action

The film is about the double crossing of the two eight-thousanders Gasherbrum I (Hidden Peak) and Gasherbrum II by Reinhold Messner and Hans Kammerlander in 1984. It is limited to the representation of the hike to the base camp , its construction, the preparation for the double crossing in the base camp and finally the return of the exhausted climbers from the successful double crossing. The film does not show the ascents of the two mountains. Herzog's interviews with Reinhold Messner play a special role in the documentation.
