The Gauchswald , also called Gauchsberg , is a part of the Hunsrück low mountain range in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany, up to 437  m high .

The Gauchswald is located in the southern Hunsrück, framed between the Soonwald in the north, the Graefenbach in the east and the Ellerbach in the south and west.

It extends to about 1000 hectares and is mostly forested. Only at Bockenau (Wingertsberg), Argenschwang and Dalberg can you find hills that are characterized by viticulture or used for agriculture.

The Gauchswald has been part of the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park since 2005 .
