The Gauliga Württemberg 1936/37 was the fourth season of the Gauliga Württemberg in football. VfB Stuttgart won the championship with a seven point lead over the tied teams 1. SSV Ulm , Sportfreunde Stuttgart and Union Böckingen . For a long time, the strong Böckinger had been able to keep up with the Cannstatter, until VfB defeated the re-promoted in a direct duel with a demoralized 8-1 victory and confidently secured the second Gaume championship after 1935. In the final round of the German championship , VfB Stuttgart prevailed in its preliminary group and ended up third. The relegation ranks were occupied by SpVgg Cannstatt and newcomer SV Göppingen . The direct return to the Gauliga succeeded the previous year's relegated FV Ulm 1894 , in addition, the VfR Schwenningen prevailed in the promotion round of the district class winners.
