Gavarnie is a commune déléguée in the French commune Gavarnie-Gèdre with 115 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region . Near Gavarnie is the Cirque de Gavarnie with the Gavarnie Falls , the highest waterfalls in France.

The municipality of Gavarnie merged with Gèdre on January 1, 2016 to form the Commune nouvelle Gavarnie-Gèdre.

The parish church of Gavarnie has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage " Camino de Santiago in France" since 1998 .
