Gavin de Becker

Gavin de Becker (born October 26, 1954 ) is an American author and security specialist .

Live and act

De Becker works primarily for governments, large corporations and public figures. He is the founder and chairman of Gavin de Becker and Associates. Together with the United States Marshals Service , he has developed the MOSAIC threat assessment systems , a software that is supposed to identify potentially dangerous students in advance before they can become violent.

De Becker has featured his beliefs on violence prevention in multiple appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show , 60 Minutes , Larry King Live , 20/20 , The Jordan Harbinger Show and Sam Harris' podcast Waking Up . He has also been featured in Time and Newsweek , The Wall Street Journal , The New York Times, and other media outlets. De Becker's first book, The Gift of Fear, was a bestseller in the United States at number 1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

His clients as security chief included the Beckhams , Jeff Bezos , Madonna , Cher , John Travolta , Michael J. Fox , Robert Redford , Geena Davis , Brooke Shields , Barbra Steisand , Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Harry, Duke of Sussex .
